A devout Sikh, Waz&#299r Si&#7749gh had received the rites of initiation at Gurdw&#257r&#257 Haz&#363r S&#257hib, N&#257nde&#7693, sacred to Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh. He founded new villages and introduced several reforms in the land revenue system. He also introduced a system of written plaints and himself held court.
