<p class="C1">&#65279&#7788EK SI&#7748GH, BH&#256&#298, a priest at the Golden Temple, Amritsar, was an associate of Bh&#257&#299 Mah&#257r&#257j Si&#7749gh, leader of the anti-British revolt of 1848-49. On receiving a written message from Mah&#257r&#257j Si&#7749gh, he came to Jalandhar Do&#257b with 30 to 35 men to join the renewed struggle. On the arrest of Bh&#257&#299 Mah&#257r&#257j Si&#7749gh, he went underground and evaded arrest for a considerable time.</p>
