<p class="C1">&#65279TAP&#256, a small market town 19 km southwest of Barn&#257l&#257 (30º-22'N, 75º-32'E) in Sa&#7749gr&#363r district of the Punjab, claims a historical shrine, Gurdw&#257r&#257 &#7789ibb&#257 S&#257hib P&#257tsh&#257h&#299 IX, dedicated to Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur. The old building constructed by Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Karam Si&#7749gh (1798-1845) of Pa&#7789i&#257l&#257 has since been replaced by a more spacious complex raised by B&#257b&#257 Nar&#257i&#7751 Si&#7749gh Mon&#299, who also has continued to manage it. The central building is a rectangular hall, with canopied seats for the Holy Volumes. Gur&#363 k&#257 La&#7749gar is near the entrance gate, and a small walled <i>sarovar</i> just outside the compound. Besides the daily prayers and <i>k&#299rtan</i>, largely attended assemblies take place on the first of each Bikram&#299 month. All major anniversaries on the Sikh calendar are observed.</p>
