A Sikh sa&#7749gat was established and a dharams&#257l&#257 constructed here to commemorate the holy visit. The sa&#7749gat was in existence in the time of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh which fact is attested by a hukamn&#257m&#257 issued by Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh to sa&#7749gats in &#7692h&#257k&#257, Chittagong, Sondip and Sylhet asking them to send a war elephant to the Gur&#363. In another hukamn&#257m&#257, these four sa&#7749gats have been directed to send their offerings of cash, cloth, weapons and shields through Bh&#257&#299 Hul&#257s Chand alone who would take them to the Gur&#363 on the occasion of D&#299v&#257l&#299. The shrine is known to have existed until the partition of the country in 1947. Later, the East Pakistan government acquired the building and converted it into residential and office accommodation.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Narotam, T&#257r&#257 Si&#7749gh, Sr&#299 Gur&#363 T&#299rath Sa&#7749grahi.
