He served the <i>sa&#7749gat</i> diligently and made regular visits to Amritsar to see the Gur&#363. Once as he entered the Guru's presence, he asked how a <i>gur&#363</i> helped the disciples in attaining liberation. Gur&#363 Hargobind, says Bh&#257&#299 Man&#299 Si&#7749gh <i>Sikh&#257&#7749 d&#299 Bhagat M&#257l&#257</i>, told him how Gur&#363 N&#257nak had enjoined upon the Sikhs to attend the <i>sa&#7749gat</i> where in they, through reciting and listening to the holy <i>&#347abad</i> with faith, would attain spiritual enlightenment and ultimately become one with the Formless Being.
