He had participated in the battle of Chamkaur and was present in the court at Sirhind when Naw&#257b Waz&#299r <u>Kh</u>&#257n, the <i>faujd&#257r</i>, pronounced death for S&#257hibz&#257d&#257 Zor&#257war Si&#7749gh and S&#257hibz&#257d&#257 Fateh Si&#7749gh, the younger sons of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh, who were 9 and 7 years of age, respectively. Sher Muhammad <u>Kh</u>&#257n pleaded against the death sentence on the ground that the boys were too young to be given such a harsh penalty and could not in any case be held responsible for the actions of their father. Waz&#299r <u>Kh</u>&#257n, however, overruled the objection and the S&#257hibz&#257d&#257s were brutally executed.</p> <p class="C1">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When Band&#257 Si&#7749gh Bah&#257dur advanced on Sirhind in 1710, Naw&#257b Sher Muhammad <u>Kh</u>&#257n at the head of his M&#257lerko&#7789l&#257 contingent, formed part of Waz&#299r <u>Kh</u>&#257n's army.
