According to Bha&#7789&#7789 Vah&#299 Talau&#7693&#257 he served Gur&#363 Tegh Bah&#257dur as a cook. He was, under imperial warrant, detained along with the Gur&#363 at Dhamt&#257n, as the latter was travelling to the eastern parts in 1665. He was again in attendance upon the Gur&#363 when, in 1675, the latter left Anandpur resolved to court martyrdom. The Gur&#363 and his companions were arrested on the way and taken to Delhi. Like his brother Mat&#299 D&#257s, Sat&#299 D&#257s refused to perjure his faith and was tortured to death. Wrapped up in cotton wool, he was set afire and roasted alive. This happened on 11 November 1675-- the day Gur&#363 Tegh Bah&#257dur was executed.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Harbans Singh, Gur&#363 Tegh Bahadur.
