Bh&#257&#299 Man&#299 Si&#7749gh tried to settle the issue by floating two slips of paper carrying the names of two contestants in the holy water. The slip which floated across was declared to be the winner. The Banda&#299s, by and large, accepted their defeat and joined the Tat <u>Kh</u>&#257ls&#257, yet many among them remained adamant. The next solution suggested was a wrestling duel between a champion each from the two factions. Sa&#7749gat Si&#7749gh came forward as the Banda&#299 champion. Opposite him was Bh&#257&#299 M&#299r&#299 Si&#7749gh, son of B&#257b&#257 K&#257hn Si&#7749gh and grandson of B&#257b&#257 Binod Si&#7749gh Trehan.
