<p class="C1">&#65279S&#256&#298&#7748 D&#256S, BH&#256&#298, skilled in setting precious stones, was a devoted Sikh of the time of Gur&#363 Arjan. Once he waited upon the Gur&#363 and submitted: "O True King, you tell us that we should listen to the <i>shabad</i> with concentration. But my mind wanders as I sit listening." The Gur&#363, according to Bh&#257&#299 Man&#299 Si&#7749gh, <i>Sikh&#257&#7749 d&#299 Bhagat M&#257l&#257</i>, said that the remedy lay in holy company. The more he sat in the <i>sa&#7749gat</i> the greater would be his absorption in the Word. Bh&#257&#299 S&#257&#299&#7749 D&#257s followed the Gur&#363's precept and led a pious life.</p>
