R&#257m Si&#7749gh had received the rites of the <u>Kh</u>&#257ls&#257 at the hands of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh, and was one of the five Sikhs who had accompanied Band&#257 Si&#7749gh from N&#257nde&#7693 to the Punjab in 1709. He took part in various campaigns launched by Band&#257 Si&#7749gh. In May 1710, he was appointed administrator of Th&#257nesar. He fought battles against Firoz <u>Kh</u>&#257n Mev&#257t&#299 at Am&#299n, Tar&#257o&#7771i, Th&#257nesar and Sh&#257h&#257b&#257d.
