<p class="C1">&#65279R&#256M DATT, a Br&#257hma&#7751 resident of Kurukshetra, who became a devotee of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh during the latter's visit to the town on the occasion of the solar eclipse in 1702. According  to tradition preserved in Bh&#257&#299 Santokh Si&#7749gh, <i>Sr&#299 Gur Prat&#257p S&#363raj Granth</i>, while other Br&#257hma&#7751s sought alms from the Gur&#363, R&#257m Datt begged for spiritual instruction.</p>
