<p class="C1">&#65279PREM SI&#7748GH (d. 1824), son of Pañj&#257b Si&#7749gh, a Randh&#257v&#257 Ja&#7789&#7789 belonging to the village of Khu&#7751&#7693&#257 in Gurd&#257spur district, was a soldier in Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh's army. He took part in several of the Mah&#257r&#257j&#257's campaigns of conquest including those of Mult&#257n (1818) and Kashm&#299r (1819). He was drowned in the Indus on 2 November 1824 while attempting to ford the river with the Mah&#257r&#257j&#257's army in pursuit of the tribal rebels of Ga&#7751&#7693hga&#7771h who had attacked Har&#299 Si&#7749gh Nalv&#257.</p>
