Since the sermons are interspersed with hymns composed by saints who used to sing them at their <i>sa&#7749gats</i> in &#256s&#257var&#299 <i>r&#257ga</i> or musical measure, the book is called <i>Poth&#299 &#256s&#257var&#299&#257&#7749</i>. The language of the book is Punjabi, with a fair mixture of Braj and S&#257dh Bh&#257kh&#257. The book was compiled by Bh&#257&#299 Sahaj R&#257m, a Sev&#257panth&#299 saint, between 1791-1811 when he happened to be staging with the head of the sect, Bh&#257&#299 A&#7693&#7693a&#7751 Sh&#257h, in company with some 250 other saints.</p> <p class="C1">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It was first published in 1912 by Bh&#257&#299 Amar Si&#7749gh and later reprinted in 1955 and 1967 by the Sev&#257panth&#299-A&#7693&#7693a&#7751 Sh&#257h&#299 Sabh&#257, Pa&#7789i&#257l&#257.
