Dost Muhammad <u>Kh</u>&#257n who had established himself in power at K&#257bul bitterly felt the loss of Pesh&#257war. P&#299r Muhammad along with his brother, Sult&#257n Muhammad, reached Lahore in March 1837 where he was well received by the Mah&#257r&#257j&#257. On 7 May 1837, P&#299r Muhammad and his borther Sult&#257n Muhammad were sent to Pesh&#257war with Prince Kha&#7771ak Si&#7749gh. In March 1839, P&#299r Muhammad offered to help Sh&#257h Shuj&#257' who was supported by Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh against Dost Muhammad <u>Kh</u>&#257n.
