Gur&#363 N&#257nak visited P&#257kpatan during his travels through that part of the country. At the time of that visit he fell into a discourse with his successor, Far&#299d II, at a place which is now marked by Gurdw&#257r&#257 N&#257naksar, about six kilometres to the west of the town, commemorating the Gur&#363's visit.
