According to Bh&#257&#299 Man&#299 Si&#7749gh, <i>Sikh&#257&#7749 d&#299 Bhagat M&#257l&#257</i>, Gur&#363 Arjan sent him to Ceylon (Sr&#299 Lanka) in search of a manuscript, <i>Pr&#257&#7751 Sa&#7749gal&#299</i>, which, as the tradition goes, had been left there by Gur&#363 N&#257nak. Bh&#257&#299 Pai&#7771&#257 brought the manuscript but it was discarded by Gur&#363 Arjan as apocryphal. The account Bh&#257&#299 Pai&#7771&#257 gave of his travels was recorded by Bh&#257&#299 Banno, another scholarly Sikh of the time. Under the title <i>Haqiqat R&#257h Muq&#257m R&#257je Shivan&#257bh K&#299</i>this account was appended to a copy of the Holy Book Bh&#257&#299 Banno had transcribed.
