He also went incognito to Lahore and Waz&#299r&#257b&#257d for collecting information about the strength of British forces at those cantonments. Nih&#257l Si&#7749gh was arrested along with Bh&#257&#299 Mah&#257r&#257j Si&#7749gh on the night of 28-29 December 1849, but was released soon after.
