Later, he went over to Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Bikram Si&#7749gh of Far&#299dko&#7789. B&#257v&#257 Nih&#257l Si&#7749gh belonged to the K&#363k&#257 or N&#257mdh&#257r&#299 sect and was the author of an Urdu book, <i><u>Kh</u>ursh&#299d <u>Kh</u>&#257ls&#257</i>, published in 1885, in which he extolled B&#257b&#257 R&#257m Si&#7749gh K&#363k&#257 as the eleventh Gur&#363 of the Sikhs. The book made sympathetic references to Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Duleep Si&#7749gh and Mah&#257r&#257&#7751&#299 Jind Kaur, expressing the hope that the former would be restored as ruler of the Punjab by the Queen of England. The Lahore <u>Kh</u>&#257ls&#257 D&#299w&#257n rejected the book as "unauthorized". Its contents were represented as seditious as well as being subversive of the Sikh tenet.
