According to current tradition, Gur&#363 Amar D&#257s stayed here 22 times during his annual pilgrimage journeys before he had met Gur&#363 A&#7749gad and become his Sikh. The present building of the Gurdw&#257r&#257 comprises a d&#299v&#257n hall with the sanctum in the middle of it. Above the sanctum is a square room topped by a lotus dome and a gilded pinnacle with an umbrella-shaped finial. Two rows of rooms on one side constitute the Gur&#363 k&#257 La&#7749gar and a residential block for pilgrims; on the other side is the 50-metre square sarovar. The Gurdw&#257r&#257 is managed by the Shiroma&#7751&#299 Gurdw&#257r&#257 Parbandhak Committee through a local committee. Special gatherings take place on the first of every Bikr&#257m&#299 month and a fair is held to mark the Loh&#7771&#299 festival during mid January.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Gi&#257n Si&#7749gh, Gi&#257n&#299, Tw&#257r&#299kh Gur&#363 Kh&#257lsa [Reprint].
