He had been in the service of D&#257r&#257 Shukoh, who, having lost the struggle for succession to his father's throne, was executed by his brother, Emperor Aura&#7749gz&#299b, in 1659 : When he came under the patronage of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh is not known. Two of his poems, <i>Nand Pach&#299s&#299</i> and <i>Ka&#7771kh&#257 Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh K&#257</i>, both in Gurmukh&#299 script, have survived.
