He served that chief until his death in 1804 when the estate of Ak&#257lga&#7771h, which was held as a dependency of the Sukkarchakk&#299&#257 family, fell by escheat into the hands of Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh. N&#257nak Chand then left his native town and entered the force of D&#299w&#257n Muhkam Chand under whom he served in positions of considerable trust. He was employed on collecting the revenues of Mult&#257n and Kashm&#299r. He died in 1831 and his grandson, R&#257m Chand, succeeded to this appointment. R&#257m Chand was made chamberlain receiving the charge of the Mah&#257r&#257j&#257's private seal.
