As Gur&#363 N&#257nak once visited the city, he sent Mard&#257n&#257 to purchase one pice worth of truth and one pice worth of falsehood. Mard&#257n&#257 went from shop to shop, but his strange quest mystified everyone. There was however one shopkeeper, M&#363l&#257, who wrote out for him on a piece of paper : "Death is the truth : living falsehood." M&#363l&#257's curiosity led him to follow Mard&#257n&#257. He felt contentment in the Gur&#363's presence and became a disciple.
