Unlike his elder brother, Mohan, who lived a retired life, Mohr&#299 was of a more active temperament and spent most of his time looking after the Gur&#363's household. He accepted without demur the nomination of his brother-in-law, Bh&#257&#299 Je&#7789h&#257, to be his father's spiritual successor as Gur&#363 R&#257m D&#257s.
