As says Bh&#257&#299 Man&#299 Si&#7749gh, Sikh&#257&#7749 d&#299 Bhagat M&#257l&#257, he supplicated the Gur&#363 thus : "O True King, you are the bestower of mercy. You are our liberator. Pray slash my bonds of birth and death." The Gur&#363 said, "One attains emancipation by gaining awareness of the Divine Reality. God is Omniscient, but man's knowledge is limited. God, like the sun, showers His light on everyone, everywhere, but calm and clear water reflects the sun's image vividly whereas muddy and disturbed water throws back but a dim and distorted image. One's knowledge of God depends upon the nature and state of one's mind."
