When Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur passed through the town in 1666 on his way from All&#257h&#257b&#257d to <i>V&#257r&#257&#7751as&#299</i>, he met here a Sikh <i>sa&#7749gat</i>. Separate shrines dedicated to the two Gur&#363s are said to have existed once, but there are no traces of them left now. However, an old <i>gurdw&#257r&#257</i>, named Shri Nirmal Sa&#7749gat, stands near N&#257r&#257ya&#7751 Gh&#257t. It is a modest-looking building, with the Gur&#363 Granth S&#257hib seated on a marble platform in a small room.
