<p class="C1">&#65279M&#298R&#298 SI&#7748GH was son of K&#257hn Si&#7749gh and grandson of B&#257b&#257 Binod Si&#7749gh, who had under the orders of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh accompanied Band&#257 Si&#7749gh Bah&#257dur from N&#257nde&#7693, in the South, to the Punjab in 1708 along with three other disciples. M&#299r&#299 Si&#7749gh took part in several of Band&#257 Si&#7749gh's battles against the Mu<u>gh</u>al rulers in the Punjab. When the newly-conquered district of Karn&#257l was made over to Binod Si&#7749gh in May 1710, M&#299r&#299 Si&#7749gh assisted his grandfather in guarding the town against Mu<u>gh</u>al onslaughts and took part in battles against the Mu<u>gh</u>al commander, F&#299roz <u>Kh</u>&#257n Mev&#257t&#299 at Am&#299n, T&#257r&#257or&#299, Th&#257nesar and Sh&#257h&#257b&#257d.</p>
