According to local tradition, Gur&#363 Hargobind himself passed through the village during his travels in the M&#257lv&#257 country in 1631-34, staying here for three days. Bha&#7789&#7789 chronicle, <i>Gur&#363 k&#299&#257&#7749 S&#257kh&#299&#257&#7749</i>, records that Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur, after his return from the eastern provinces in 1670, also came here to see his sister, B&#299b&#299 V&#299ro. Folk memory, however, has not preserved this latter visit. The historical shrine, a flat-roofed hall, formerly known as Chauntr&#257 S&#257hib, has been renamed Gurdw&#257r&#257 Chhev&#299&#7749 P&#257tsh&#257h&#299 Gur&#363 Hargobind S&#257hib by Niha&#7749gs of the Taru&#7751&#257 Dal who manage it.
