<p class="C1">&#65279MAHIT&#256B KAUR, daughter of Chaudhar&#299 Suj&#257n Si&#7749gh, an A&#7789v&#257l Ja&#7789&#7789 of the village of Mall&#257, in Gurd&#257spur district, was married to Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh about the year 1822 by the rites of <i>ch&#257dar and&#257z&#299</i>, knotting the sheet cover. She survived the Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 and lived up to a ripe old age. The British allowed her an annual pension of Rs. 1,930.</p>
