Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh appointed him the dispenser of royal charities in the Dharam&#257rth department. Pa&#7751&#7693it Madhus&#363dan also officiated at the bi-monthly <i>tul&#257d&#257ns</i> of the Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 which took place on the Sa&#7749kr&#257nti and Am&#257vasy&#257 days, and supervised the distribution of charities. He commanded much respect at the Sikh Darb&#257r. He held <i>j&#257g&#299r</i> of the annual value of 10,000 rupees.
