Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh stayed in the village for a few days in December 1705 on his way from Chamkaur to D&#299n&#257 and K&#257&#7749ga&#7771. While R&#257i Kalh&#257 had despatched a fast messenger, N&#363r&#257 M&#257h&#299, to Sirhind to bring news of M&#257t&#257 Gujar&#299 and two younger sons of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh, rumoured to have been taken into custody by the local governor, the Gur&#363 halted at Lamm&#257&#7749-Ja&#7789pur&#257 to await his return. N&#363r&#257 M&#257h&#299 returned and tearfully narrated the tragic happenings at Sirhind. Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh sat listening with perfect composure, his eyes fixed on the ground. With the tip of his arrow he was digging, as if absentmindedly, at the root of a dab weed plant. As N&#363r&#257 concluded his doleful tale, the Gur&#363 pulled out the dab plant and said, "The roots of tyrants have been dug; they shall be uprooted." He told his Sikhs not to grieve. He sat in prayer and thanked the Timeless God that he had rendered unto Him what was His. He blessed the Naw&#257b of M&#257lerko&#7789l&#257 who had spoken in defence of the children at the Sirhind court. He also blessed R&#257i Kalh&#257 for his devotion and service, and gave him a sword and a jug as souvenirs.

There are two gurdw&#257r&#257s in Lamm&#257&#7749 to commemorate Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh's visit.

GURDW&#256R&#256 S&#256HIB P&#256TSH&#256H&#298 DASV&#298&#7748 is inside the village on the site of the house of one Bh&#257&#299 R&#257m Dit Si&#7749gh where the Gur&#363 had stayed overnight.
