He commanded a troop in the battle of Kart&#257rpur fought against the imperial army under Qutab <u>Kh</u>&#257n, <i>faujd&#257r</i> of Jalandhar and a cousin of Paind&#257 <u>Kh</u>&#257n. P&#257ind&#257 <u>Kh</u>&#257n, the Pa&#7789h&#257n who had been reared by Gur&#363 Hargobind and who had remained with him for many years but had now turned hostile and attacked him with his cousin's help. According to <i>Gurbil&#257s Chhev&#299&#7749 P&#257tsh&#257h&#299</i>, Bh&#257&#299 Lakkh&#363 fought valiantly at the head of his contingent. He continued to fight even after his horse had been killed, but was felled as an arrow from Qutab <u>Kh</u>&#257n's bow hit him in the forehead. As he lay wounded, Qutab <u>Kh</u>&#257n severed his head with a blow of his sword.
