He had been the playmate and associate of Prince Nau Nih&#257l Si&#7749gh who bestowed upon him the title of <i>d&#299w&#257n</i> and showed him several other favours. In 1837, Prince Nau Nih&#257l Si&#7749gh, while at Pesh&#257war, granted him command of four regiments of infantry and one of cavalry with usual proportion of artillery, on a monthly salary of 1,500 rupees. Kishan Ka&#7749var was appointed administrator of R&#257walpi&#7751&#7693&#299 in 1841. He assumed the charge of the district of Ba&#7789&#257l&#257, D&#299n&#257nagar and Kal&#257naur in 1848 when Lahi&#7751&#257 Si&#7749gh Maj&#299&#7789h&#299&#257, the administrator of the territory lying between the Rivers R&#257v&#299 and Sutlej, left for Ban&#257ras.
