<p class="C1">&#65279KH&#256N&#362, BH&#256&#298, one of the prominent Sikhs mentioned by Bh&#257&#299 Gurd&#257s, <i>V&#257r&#257&#7749</i>, XI. 15. He received the rites of initiation at the hands of Gur&#363 A&#7749gad and lived up to the time of Gur&#363 Amar D&#257s. As says Bh&#257&#299 Man&#299 Si&#7749gh, <i>Sikh&#257&#7749 d&#299 Bhagat M&#257l&#257</i>, he, accompanied by his son M&#257&#299&#257 and Bh&#257&#299 Govind, a Bha&#7751&#7693&#257r&#299 Khatr&#299, once waited upon Gur&#363 A&#7749gad. "Enlighten us, O sustainer of the poor," he begged, "about the virtue most precious." "There is no virtue higher than love," said the Gur&#363. "Love God, remember Him always and sing His praises. Serve holy men and help the needy with food and clothing." Bh&#257&#299 <u>Kh</u>&#257nu, M&#257&#299&#257 and Govind took the Gur&#363's precept and were counted among the leading disciples in the time of Gur&#363 Amar D&#257s.</p>
