Though Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh was not impressed by Kesho D&#257s's claim, some in the audience were. The Gur&#363, in order to demonstrate the futility of <i>tantra</i> and other such cults, permitted Kesho D&#257s to carry out his experiment. For months the Br&#257hma&#7751 continued with his incantations living meanwhile on the Gur&#363's bounty, but no goddess appeared. At last the Br&#257hma&#7751, for fear of exposure absconded.
