<p class="C1">&#65279KED&#256R&#298, BH&#256&#298, or Bh&#257&#299 Kid&#257r&#299, a L&#363mb&#257 Khatr&#299 of Ba&#7789&#257l&#257, received the rites of initiation at the hands of Gur&#363 A&#7749gad. According to Gi&#257n&#299 Gi&#257n Si&#7749gh <i>Tw&#257r&#299<u>kh</u> Gur&#363 <u>Kh</u>&#257ls&#257</i>, Bh&#257&#299 Ked&#257r&#299 was one of the Sikhs chosen by Gur&#363 Amar D&#257s to accompany Bh&#257&#299 Je&#7789h&#257 (later Gur&#363 R&#257m D&#257s) to the Mu<u>gh</u>al court at Lahore to answer a complaint lodged by some jealous Br&#257hma&#7751s and Khatr&#299s against the teaching of Gur&#363 N&#257nak. Bh&#257&#299 Ked&#257r&#299 also held charge of a mañj&#299 or preaching district. Bh&#257&#299 Gurd&#257s has praised him as <i>va&#7693&#7693&#257 bh&#257gat</i>, i.e, a devotee <i>par excellence</i>.</p>
