Journeying through Kashm&#299r once, Gur&#363 Hargobind (1595-1644) put up with him in his house for a night. Later, as says Sar&#363p D&#257s Bhall&#257, Mahim&#257 Prak&#257sh, a group of Sikhs, on their way to Sr&#299nagar to visit Gur&#363 Hargobind and carrying a jar of honey as their offering, also stayed with Ka&#7789&#7789&#363 Sh&#257h who requested them to let him have some honey to taste. They refused saying that they could not do so before the Gur&#363 had partaken of it. When Gur&#363 Hargobind heard the story at Sr&#299nagar, he told the visiting Sikhs that there was no difference between a Sikh and the Gur&#363. "Whatever is fed to my Sikhs with love, " said Gur&#363 Hargobind, "reaches me. Refusal to give to a needy Sikh reflects lack of faith in the Gur&#363." He asked them to go back to Ka&#7789&#7789&#363 Sh&#257h and give him the jar.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Gurbil&#257s Chhev&#299&#7749 P&#257tsh&#257h&#299 .
