Later, he settled down under a <i>ja&#7751&#7693</i> tree near Nath&#257&#7751&#257, a village in Ba&#7789hi&#7751&#7693&#257 district, and practised severe austerities. During the battle of Mehr&#257j in 1634, he served Gur&#363 Hargobind and his Sikhs with milk and food. As Gur&#363 Hargobind visited Nath&#257&#7751&#257 after the battle, K&#257l&#363 N&#257th offered obeisance and received the Guru's blessing.
