<p class="C1">&#65279KALAU&#7770, 9 km east of Bass&#299 Pa&#7789han&#257&#7749 (30º-42'N, 76º25'E) in Fatehga&#7771h S&#257hib district, claims a historical shrine dedicated to Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur. A raised platform, was constructed on the top of the ruined mound in the village to commemorate the visit of Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur who made a brief halt here on his way from K&#299ratpur into the plains of the M&#257lv&#257. This was later replaced by a Mañj&#299 S&#257hib. The present building was constructed only in 1968. It consists of a rectangular hall, with a <i>verandah</i> on two sides. The Gur&#363 k&#257 La&#7749gar is close by and a row of rooms for the pilgrims at the foot of the mound. A local committee administers the Gurdw&#257r&#257.</p>
<p class="C1">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;	Kalau&#7771 is also important now as the birth place of Gi&#257n&#299 Ditt Si&#7749gh, one of the pioneers of the Si&#7749gh Sabh&#257 movement. A library to honour his memory was set up in the village in 1976.</p>
