He once waited on the Gur&#363 and enquired how a warrior might be saved. The Gur&#363, according to Bh&#257&#299 Man&#299 Si&#7749gh, <i>Sikh&#257&#7749 d&#299 Bhagat M&#257l&#257</i>, said, "He who lays down his life in a <i>dharam yuddh</i>, i.e. fighting for a righteous cause, and remembers God in his last moments will attain liberation."</p>
