He was the son of Suj&#257n Si&#7749gh, who had acquired territories in the Jalandhar Do&#257b and in Amb&#257l&#257. Jodh Si&#7749gh, driven out of his possessions by the chief of Kals&#299&#257, settled at Ras&#363lpur near Tarn T&#257ran in Amritsar district.
