Later he joined service under Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh. In 1822, he was sent to Attock where he held charge of the fort for four years. He was then recalled to Lahore and granted a <i>j&#257g&#299r</i> in Shakarga&#7771h <i>tahs&#299l</i> of Gurd&#257spur district, with a third share in the village of Chashm&#257, subject to the service of 35 horse. When H&#299r&#257 Si&#7749gh &#7692ogr&#257 became minister, Jodh Si&#7749gh was posted to his own regiment, the &#7692er&#257 <u>Kh</u>&#257s. Although an old man, he took part with his contingent in the first Anglo-Sikh war of 1845-46. After the cessation of hostilities, he retired to his estate at Chashm&#257.
