Even after the capital had been shifted to Sa&#7749gr&#363r in 1827, the coronation ceremony of the rulers continued to be performed at J&#299nd.</p> <p class="C1">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p class="C1">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;GURDW&#256R&#256 MAÑJ&#298 S&#256HIB SR&#298 GUR&#362 TE<u>GH</u> BAH&#256DUR S&#256HIB, commemorating the visit of Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur, was constructed by R&#257j&#257 Gajpat Si&#7749gh, the first Sikh ruler of J&#299nd state. Of the original building only the three-storeyed gateway now remains. The rest has been replaced by a modern building with a spacious assembly hall the cornerstone of which was laid on 20 April 1975. It is topped with a massive dome, with a domed pavilion at each corner. To the east of the hall is the <i>sarovar</i>. Accomodation for residential purpose and Gur&#363 k&#257 La&#7749gar is to the south of it.
