Abhai R&#257m, who enjoyed the esteem of the chiefs of Pa&#7789i&#257l&#257 and N&#257bh&#257, added to the family's fortunes. Jaw&#257har Si&#7749gh established himself at &#7692hilv&#257&#7749 and being the eldest in the family succeeded to the <i>sard&#257r&#299</i> or chiefship after his father's death in 1826. Jaw&#257har Si&#7749gh fought under D&#299w&#257n Mohkam Chand in the cis-Sutlej campaign conquering territories for the Lahore Darb&#257r. During this campaign Z&#299r&#257, Mudk&#299, Ko&#7789 Kap&#363r&#257, Badhn&#299 and Ch&#363ha&#7771 Chakk were occupied. Jaw&#257har Si&#7749gh founded the village of Sib&#299&#257&#7749 and took possession of K&#257leke. As a reward for the services rendered by him in various expeditions including those of Mult&#257n and Pesh&#257war, Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh conferred upon him some villages in Z&#299r&#257 <i>tahs&#299l</i> and Dus&#257ñjh in Mog&#257.
