<p class="C1">&#65279&#298SHAR KAUR, R&#256&#7750&#298 (d. 1840), daughter of L&#257l Si&#7749gh Sandh&#363 of the village of Sir&#257&#7749v&#257l&#299, in Si&#257lko&#7789 district of the Punjab, was married to Prince Kha&#7771ak Si&#7749gh, eldest son of Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh, in 1815, by the rite of <i>ch&#257dar and&#257zi</i>, i.e. throwing across the conjugal sheet. She immolated herself on the funeral pyre of her husband on 5 November 1840.</p>
