He had the rank of general under Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Sher Si&#7749gh. In 1848, he fought on the side of D&#299w&#257n M&#363l R&#257j at Mult&#257n. He was deprived of his <i>j&#257g&#299rs</i> by the British after the Punjab was annexed in 1849. During the uprising of 1857, he enlisted in the 11th Bengal Lancers as a Ris&#257ld&#257r. He retired in 1860 with the title of Sard&#257r. Sard&#257r Hars&#257 Si&#7749gh was a Provincial Darb&#257r&#299 and resided at Sult&#257nvi&#7751&#7693, Amritsar.
