<p class="C1">&#65279HARS&#256 SI&#7748GH, GENERAL (d. 1887), son of Sh&#257m Si&#7749gh, was a soldier in the <u>Kh</u>&#257ls&#257 army, and commanded one of the regiments of the French brigade. He had the rank of general under Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Sher Si&#7749gh. In 1848, he fought on the side of D&#299w&#257n M&#363l R&#257j at Mult&#257n. He was deprived of his <i>j&#257g&#299rs</i> by the British after the Punjab was annexed in 1849. During the uprising of 1857, he enlisted in the 11th Bengal Lancers as a Ris&#257ld&#257r. He retired in 1860 with the title of Sard&#257r. Sard&#257r Hars&#257 Si&#7749gh was a Provincial Darb&#257r&#299 and resided at Sult&#257nvi&#7751&#7693, Amritsar. His son, Jasvant Si&#7749gh also a Ris&#257ld&#257r in the 11th Bengal Lancers, received the Order of Merit for his services in connection with the Af<u>gh</u>&#257n Boundary Commission.</p>
<p class="C1">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Hars&#257 Si&#7749gh died at Amritsar in 1887.</p>
