When he returned to India in 1885, he brought with him offerings from the Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 for the Golden Temple at Amritsar and for the <i>sam&#257dh</i> of Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh at Lahore and that of Sard&#257r Mah&#257&#7749 Si&#7749gh (Duleep Si&#7749gh's grandfather) at Gujr&#257&#7749w&#257l&#257 . Accordingly, twenty-one basinfuls of <i>ka&#7771ah pras&#257d</i> were distributed daily between 20 and 22 August 1885 among devotees at the Golden Temple, Ak&#257l Bu&#7749g&#257 and other <i>gurdw&#257r&#257s</i> on behalf of the Mah&#257r&#257j&#257.
