<p class="C1">&#65279HAR&#298 SI&#7748GH, a native of Pa&#7751&#7693or&#299, one of a number of villages of that name, 8 km northwest of Tarn T&#257ran in Amritsar district of the Punjab. He joined Bh&#257&#299 Mah&#257r&#257j Si&#7749gh after the first Anglo-Sikh war and helped him in his campaign in the M&#257jh&#257 region against the British. He was with Mah&#257r&#257j Si&#7749gh throughout the second Sikh war. From S&#363jov&#257l, in the latter half of 1849, he was sent to Amb&#257l&#257 to prepare the people of that area for a fresh revolt.</p>
