Haq&#299qat Si&#7749gh was in the service of Naw&#257b Kap&#363r Si&#7749gh, on whose death he emerged as an independent chief and finally a leader of one section of the Kanhaiy&#257 chiefship, occupying Kal&#257naur, K&#257hnga&#7771h, Ad&#257latga&#7771h, Pa&#7789hanko&#7789 and many other villages. He was a rival of Jai Si&#7749gh Kanhaiy&#257, yet at the same time his friend and associate in many expeditions. In 1760, Haq&#299qat Si&#7749gh destroyed Ch&#363&#7771&#299&#257&#7749v&#257l&#257 and founded another village instead, named Sa&#7749gatpur&#257 and also the fort of Fatehga&#7771h. In 1773, Jamm&#363 became a tributary of Haq&#299qat Si&#7749gh.</p> <p class="C1">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Haq&#299qat Si&#7749gh died in 1782 and his only son Jaimal Si&#7749gh, aged eleven years, succeeded him to his estates.
