When after the death of B&#257b&#257 R&#257m R&#257i on 4 September 1687 a large number of his <i>masands</i> started grabbing his property and offerings, Bh&#257&#299 Gurd&#257s remained faithful to his widow, Pañj&#257b Kaur. It was he who carried Pañjab Kaur's complaint and appeal for help to Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh, then staying at P&#257o&#7751&#7789&#257.
