Years later, when Gul&#257b R&#257i, a great grandson of Gur&#363 Hargobind (1595-1644), occupied the seat where Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh used to hold assembly and, pretending to be Gur&#363, started accepting offerings from Sikh devotees, Gurba<u>kh</u>sh remonstrated with him and finding him adamant and unrepentent cursed him with an early death, with no progeny to continue his line.
